    • 1. Buy a Mac (and iPhone — if you don’t have one).
    • 2. Install Xcode.
    • 3. Learn basics of programming (probably the hardest point).
    • 4. Create a few different apps from step-by-step tutorials. (Objective-C, Swift)
    • 5. Start working on your own, custom app.
    • 6. In the meantime, learn as much as you can about software development generally.
      • Of course it won’t replace you getting a degree, but to get a job as an iOS developer you don’t have to have it. 
    • 7. Finish your app.
    • 8. Publish your app to the App Store.
    • 9. Upload your app to GitHub.
    • 10. Contact the company you want to work in!

    • Prerequisites
    • In these lessons, it is assumed that you are familiar with the Swift programming language. You do not need to be a Swift master to complete the lessons, but you will get more out of the lessons if you can comfortably read and understand Swift code.
    • If you are not yet comfortable with Swift, complete the Learn to Code exercises in theSwift Playgrounds app. Alternatively, you can work through A Swift Tour from The Swift Programming Language (Swift 3.1). Both give you a solid foundation in the Swift programming language.
